DIY Re-Do Dressing Chairs

Last year I re-did some dressing chairs I had laying around (see full post here).

They started out like this.....

And ended up like this at the end of our bed...

But since we moved to the water I am going to re-do our house in true beach cottage chic...complete with nautical touches and ocean/lake inspired design.  On a recent shopping trip to Joann Fabrics I found some lovely coral fabric and bought the entire bolt.  The fabric is actually meant for outdoor use so it is super durable which I love.  I plan on using it through out the house and my first project was re-doing the dressing chairs seen above.

We are using the dressing chairs as extra seating in our living room so I knew the fabric would be perfect to withstand lots of use, plus bring in those nautical touches I so want.

I recovered the chairs using the fabric and a staple gun (super easy) and below you can see the transformation....old style on left and new on right.

Personally, I am happy with the transformation and think it brings some *fancy* color and depth into the living room.  I plan on using the coral fabric in other areas too like making pillow covers, roman shades, etc. to bring a cohesive look to the house. Now it is just finding some time to do all of this! :)

What do you think?  Any other ideas on how to use the fabric throughout the house?

Have a *fancy* weekend!
