*Fancy* Flavored Water

Summer is here!  Summer is here!

But with summer comes heat and what better way to refresh and cool down with some flavored water?  It tastes good, helps prevent dehydration, and looks so pretty.  Here are some good WWW sources for recipes and ideas:

Quick and easy flavored water
Check out Jamie Oliver's Quick & Easy Recipes that includes ingredients like oranges, limes, and fresh mint.  Seriously these are quick & easy.

Nancy Creative even suggests adding rosemary, thyme, and ginger root and features recipes like this one:
Cucumber Herbal Water:
5 cups water + 10 thin slices cucumber + 2 lemon slices + 2 sprigs of fresh mint + 3 sprigs of rosemary
Put water in pitcher and add lemon and cucumber slices.  Crush mint and rosemary to release flavor, then add to other ingredients.  Refrigerate for several hours and serve over ice. Garnish with lemon.

Martha Stewart can do no wrong with this pineapple-mint infused water recipe.  Perfect for the beach!

But why just stop at flavored water, let's make it *fancy*!  How does one do that?  Well, start by making any of the above flavored water recipes and then carbonating it (aka making fizzy water or otherwise known as sparkling water) using the SodaStream Soda Maker at Target for $79.

I picked up the SodaStream for my husband as an early father's day gift and we have been making plain sparkling water every night but I decided to up the *fancy* and made some sparkling cucumber water.  IT WAS DELICIOUS!  So it got me thinking that the possibilities are endless to what you can do with *fancy* flavored water.

So much so, that you must check back next week on how to turn *fancy* flavored water into your favorite cocktail.  Just in time for summer!
